During the course you will:

- Consider the use of wind turbines for specific tasks such as pumping water
- Review the energy requirements identified during the Home/Business Energy Audit
- Review the wind energy resource histograms produced during the Wind Turbine Site Selection Course
- Understand how to identify and use the power curve data of a wind turbine
- Analyze wind speed and power curve data using an Excel Spreadsheet (included on the course cdrom )
- Discover the maximum power available from a wind turbine at a specific site using wind speed histograms and power curves
- Learn to select a wind turbine that can meet yourenergy requirements at your proposed wind turbine site
- Learn the vocabulary to negotiate with wind turbine sellers and installers with confidence
Course Outcomes:
Upon completing the course, based on your energy requirements and available energy resource, you will have the knowledge and practical skills to be able to select the wind turbine that appropriate to your needs as economically as possible. In addition, you will have the confidence to negotiate with salespeople and installers for the best possible price.
